First Cartoon Appearance: episode 3 Blast From the Past First Comics Appearance: None yet as 11/2008
We have not been provided with official character bio and description for Animated Snarl (/SLAG!)
What we have been told by Transformers Animated story writer Marty Isenberg (at Botcon 2008) is that he hopes fans think that
Slag (and fellow Dinobot Swoop) does speak, but he (they) do so, "off camera!" In truth, these two
characters were not given speaking parts for budgetary reasons.
Art Director Derrick Wyatt stated that his, "dream casting" for who would play Slag
(/Snarl) would be Minnesota native comedian,
Louie Anderson. Imagine that!
These Dinobots provide the back-up for their leader, Grimlock if and when he bites off more than he
can chew! Like his G1 counterpart, we presume Snarl (/Slag) to be among the least intelligent, but most
powerful of the Dinobots
Character bio from package tech spec:
One of the first robots brought to life on Earth by the power of the AllSpark, Snarl has a lot in common with the
dinosaur whose form he takes in beast mode. He's almost impossible to hurt, firs of all, and he really likes
smashing stuff with his tail or ramming it with the horns on his head. He prefers his beast mode to his robot mode
because he has more options for how to smash stuff as a triceratops. He doesn't take delight in randome
destruction the way some Decepticons do -he just really likes being strong, and breaking stuff seems like the best way
to enjoy it.
Galactic powers and abilities:
> Strong enough to smash boulders to powder.
> Flame breath hot enough to melt a garbage truck.
> Horns fire powerful tri-lasers.

Bibliography
of significant appearances: As mentioned, Snarl (/Slag) plays a relatively minor role, a present but not speaking
("on camera") member of the Dinobots. They are heavily featured in the following episodes:

Blast From the Past
09
Survival of the Fittest
12
Megatron Rising, part 1
13 Lead writer, Marty Isenberg has revealed in the Transformers collector comic that the Dinobots were originally going
to be a part of Megatron Rising, Part 2. However, when they, "got the animation back" they realized
they, "couldn't use it." He went on to hint that fans should be glad of this as the premise was that the
Dinobots were going to show up and try to help the Autobots, but Megatron, in his new form effortlessly annihilated
them! Good deal. Let's pretend that didn't happen!
