History: Lurking in the shadows, Sideways observed the spaceship Atlantis warp away. He wondered how he could use this to his advantage. He joined the battle in space as an Autobot, only to become a Decepticon and turn the tide of the battle. He sent a fake distress signal from Jungle Planet to Optimus Prime, to bring the Autobot leader to the Jungle Planet. He then told Megatron that Optimus was heading there. Another time, he told Leobreaker that a friend was trapped under a rockslide, and faked a challenge from Optimus Prime to Scourge. He was discovered by Leobreaker and said he was an Autobot special agent. Official

Bibliography of significant appearances: *Cybertron episode #11: Deep - First appears lurking in shadows. *Cybertron episode #12: Ship - Changes allegiances for the first time. *Cybertron episode #16: Savage - Sends fake distress signal. *Cybertron episode #17: Sand - Tells Autobots he is with them. Other appearances: The most recent other Sideways character in Transformers was in 2002, Transformers Armada. That Sideways had one of the most interesting 'personality' revelations at the end of the Armada cartoon series. You know us, don't want to give anything away, but considering a certain tank figure that appears set to be released in the coming year, we figure we just might be on the right track. Whether or not this Sideways and the personality of the Armada character are in fact one and the same, remains to be seen. Does anyone else besides me notice that the red shape of his eye visor looks like an artistically abstract red bird, almost like a phoenix rising from the ashes?!?! The one other other Sideways character is different individual, w/ the same name. He's an Autobot motorcycle released 2002 in a 2-pack (w/ Decepticon Axer) part of the RID TF line.
